Job Description
Client is a global leader in the design and manufacture of lighting controls, shading solutions and energy management systems for high end residential and commercial building applications. The company is a mid-sized U.S. multinational that is profitable, growing quickly and has a worldwide reputation for cutting edge technology, quality and customer service. This opportunity is open due to growth and will report to the National Residential Sales Leader at Company headquarters in Pennsylvania. The Residential Sales Manager will be home based in either Denver or Seattle and be responsible for growing the companies residential lighting and shading business throughout the Rocky Mountain and Pacific North West territory (9 States). This will require experience supporting reps, agents, dealers and distributors and developing relationships with residential architects, designers, engineering firms, real estate developers, home builders, project owners and other consultants in the territory to have them specify the companies lighting controls and shading solutions into their residential buildings(remodels and new construction). Candidates must be willing to embrace the company's culture by being passionate, flexible, innovative, ethical and customer focused. 

Candidates must have the following background and experience to be considered.
* Preference for a BA or BS Degree from top school with strong academic achievement. 
* Minimum 10 years of experience selling residential building automation products (lighting, shading, audio/video, security, HVAC, smart home, energy management systems, etc.) through reps, agents, dealers and distributors and developing relationships with residential architects, designers, builders and other specifiers in the territory.
* Experience managing reps, dealers, distributors and agents to develop the brand and grow the residential lighting control and shading business in the territory.
* Knowledge of residential specification/construction process and proven success generating one name specifications.
* Technical aptitude and ability to master complex lighting/shading control systems.
* Stable Career History
* Willingness to travel as required (up to 50%).
* Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Sales Force (or other CRM software) and Designer (specification estimation software).
* Confident, creative, passionate, flexible, "take charge" individual with excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
